How we work
Let us review your project for Sustainability, Site Conditions, and Code Compliance. We can determine whether your project is feasible considering your needs and budget.
We take the time to understand your needs. We'll also show you the issues required for planning a project from start to finish. We'll go over a project planning checklist that covers site location, demographics, schools, and traffic patterns to name a few.
Roy Kindred is an award winning Architect practicing in Texas and California. REK Architect sets the highest standard for classical and modern home design. Roy studied architecture under several of the top architectural firms working today. These firms practiced old world architectural design daily. This provides a rich heritage going back to the Middle Ages.
My first project out of school was working for a top contractor on a 10 million dollar home in Preston Hollow, Dallas. My assignment morphed into re-configuring cut stone cornice profiles, designed by Peter Marino-Architect, in order to have them firmly connect to the exterior metal stud walls around the house.
After starting my own practice, I have been designing new and remodel spaces for residential and commercial cliets.
Roy Kindred was a pleasure to work with! Our project included removing a weight bearing wall between the kitchen and living room, and removing stairs that were in that wall. We then had to decide the best place to put new floating stairs, as it’s a modern house, and a pneumatic tube elevator and a new wet bar. Roy’s ideas were winners and his renderings showed us exactly what the results would look like. I wasn’t even nervous during the remodel because I knew what the results would be. I highly recommend Roy Kindred!
Roy Kindred was instrumental in us getting our plans completed. He is a very good listener, professional, detail oriented, reliable, timely and responsive. We stumbled across him after a bad experience with our previous architect. Roy was willing to take us on with partially completed plans. Roy made very practical suggestions as we worked on our house drawings. He is very personable and easy to connect with. He always returned our calls and emails in a timely manner. We are very thankful we found him and would highly recommend him.
